History of Essential Oils

Essential oils have been used during ancient times about 5,000 years ago from ceremonies, medicinal benefits, food preservation and to perfume.

The Egyptians used them for almost everything, even for beauty care. The ruling families would also wear expensive aromatics and perfume. In Greece, Hippocrates was able to document and studied over 300 plants. He reportedly believed that aromatics be used for fumigation to heal those fallen soldiers as well as combat the plague. All over India, Europe, Rome and China, there also records of its use in the past.

Essential oils now have renewed interest and modern science is beginning to explore the capabilities of essential oils.
